Academic Plan
Upon returning to Queen¿¿s University I plan to continue pursuing a B.A. degree in Geography. I intend to take core and optional geography courses needed to complete the degree. I will use elective courses to retake previously failed courses and raise my GPA. I plan to meet frequently with an academic advisor to ensure that my studies remain on track and that my goals are achievable.
I intend to return to studies at Queen¿¿s University on a part-time basis. I expect classes to take approximately 12 hours per week and studying a minimum of 20 hours per week. I will be living in Kingston and taking courses on campus while living off my savings and not working or taking part in extra circular activities. When taking courses I intend to meet regularly with professors and Teaching Assistants and take advantage of all additional academic support services such as the Math Help Centre and the Writing Centre. This academically focused lifestyle will provide a strong foundation for success.
Since leaving Queen¿¿s University I have developed, through working, a strong social presence and social skills, a lack of which had previously been detrimental to my studies. These skills coupled with a solid network of friends and family will function as my coping and support system when studying. Should any personal problems arise during my return to Queen¿¿s I will not hesitate to contact Health, Counselling and Disability Services or the on campus support services for mature students.
