Petition Letter
Dear Faculty of Arts and Science,
The pneumonia that I had in December 2017 caused me to go into psychosis and I had to take a medical leave. My Grades in 2018-2019 reflect the outcomes of treatment nor represent my cognitive ability. It has taken 3 years to recover properly and during my health crisis I failed many courses that are still left on my transcript. In addition, there are marks I am not proud of including BCHM 316, ANAT 312, PATH 310 and my marks in 2019-2020 year. I came to Queen's to pursue my dreams of becoming a psychiatrist in my application I want to continue to chase my dreams, focusing on our mental health crisis here in Canada. I have already saved my fiance's life with her bipolar in March of 2019 that caused a lot of trauma for myself. We look forward to getting married in 2021.
I missed the deadline on June 10th 2020: to change my courses in the winter to a PASS, due to the mononucleosis that was discovered in August of 2020. I emailed Professor Ozilins while he was teaching PHARM 480 during this time to let him know that I in fact had mono during my exams.
My last course to graduate is WRIT 250 and my cousin (sister) has little to no time on the clock with her brain cancer (NF1). My laptop got stolen in Kingston, I passed a kidney stone in the hospital all in September and I fell behind in my final course.
It seems no matter how hard I try I keep getting hit by life, including the circumstances of COVID-19 and I still persevere through the pain.
Thank you for your time ladies and gentlemen and please take care of yourselves during this difficult time. I am working on my applications for medical school and currently writing a children's book while completing my final course at Queen's.
Take care.
