Petition Letter
During the period the End of Term Reflection survey was due, through no fault of my own, I was unable to medication prescribed to me to treat Major Depressive Disorder. Normally I take the medication on a daily basis, and as a result of mistakes made by my pharmacy in Kingston, I missed my daily doses for roughly 10 days at the end of term, between November 27th and December 6th. As a result, I experienced withdrawal symptoms from the medication which included digestive issues, sleeping problems, and extreme mood swings. Prior to this assignment, I had completed all of the deliverables in the course on time, and had a B+ average in the course overall. Unfortunately, due to the side effects of the medication, and the stress caused from not taking it, I was unable to complete the final task for ENIN240.
Included in my appeal is a signed doctor¿¿s note testifying that I am prescribed medication for mental illness, and that I was both unable to take it at the end of term, and was experiencing side-effects.
I am appealing to receive an AG designation in this course so that I may be marked on the tasks completed throughout the semester, and discount the impact of the missed final reflection, which dropped my mark in the class from a B+ with all tasks submitted, to a C-.
