Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Matt Wry, and I am currently a second-year computing student. Unfortunately, the major that I have chosen does not reflect what I would like to study in the future. My desired major is Economics. As there are requirements to enter the Economics plan, I would need to take at least one ECON course to be eligible. Due to this reason, I would like to request to add the course ECON 112 to my current semester. I understand that this request is late and a large amount of time and effort will be required to catch up. I am more then willing to put extensive effort into ECON 112 and hopefully enter my desired major in the spring.
I acknowledge that changing a major is a serious decision, as is adding a course relatively late into the semester. I feel that I am capable of this, as my grades from the previous semester prove that I am a hard working student. Lastly, I have also already taken a prerequisite course (MATH 121) and am currently taking STAT 263, which will put me on track for an Economics degree in the future. Furthermore, I will take ECON 111 during the summer term to catch up with second-year courses.
I thank you for the time in reviewing my appeal.
