Petition Letter
I had been in contact with Jenine Ball, an Econ undergrad assistant/advisor about being enrolled in a seminar course pending my academic performance in the fall semester. I was waitlisted for ECON 488, and even after raising my GPA sufficiently in Fall semester, was not admitted into the course. I had assumed that department consent was not given because I had not received admission into the course. It is only today, Friday, January 29th that I am figuring out that I indeed did meet the requirements to be admitted into 488 after speaking to an academic advisor. I had emailed Jenine Ball again on January 22nd inquiring whether or not I would meet the academic requirements to enroll in a seminar course and have still not received a response. I require the seminar course in order to graduate, in addition to one 400 level economics course. Depending on whether or not a 400 level is being offered in the summer term, or if I could get department consent to transfer an equivalent course from another institution over the summer, it would save me having to return to Kingston in the fall and forfeit a job offer starting in September. I would hope you can see that I had tried to arrange my placement in this course with Mrs. Ball back in August of 2020, yet department consent was either forgotten to be assigned or perhaps there is another issue I'm unaware of.
