Petition Letter
Dear Associate Deans,
I am writing this letter to request a late drop for ENIN 204. Last semester was the toughest semester for me so far in my university career. My mental health has completely been affected by the second half of the pandemic. I did not and still do not know how to handle it. I have never had anxiety or any type of depression. I am a happy person and have never experienced this in my life.
During the first lockdown in March, I was completely fine. Although everything changed I handled it quite well. I guess I hoped that things would be better by now. The end of the fall semester was the worst period for me. I did not feel like myself at all. I was struggling with how to cope with all the stress and simply just gave up. I could not keep up with my courses and started not submitting assignments. I had never submitted a late assignment let alone not submitted it at all. I would go weeks without opening d2l so, I decided that it was best to drop two of my classes because I could not give 100 to the courses. I thought I dropped HLTH 101 and ENIN 204. However, I only recently noticed that ENIN 204 somehow was not dropped successfully.
I recently sought out help and am doing much better. I have had a great start to this semester and am excited about the new year. I hope that this appeal can be granted because I truly care about my grades and university career and do not want my transcript to be impacted as I have hope to apply for a master's program in the future.
Thank you and Kind regards,
Paula Mendes
