Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am requesting permission to enroll in Professor Allison Sherman¿¿s ARTH 492 ¿¿Studies in the Literature of Art¿ course. I was enrolled and attended this course until week five of studies, and prior to the commencement of week five, I made the panicked and rushed decision to drop the course. I am hoping I will be able to re-enroll in this course.
Entering week five, I was working a presentation for ARTH492. I had been reading and re-reading the materials for my ARTH 492 presentation, but couldn¿¿t make sense of the words. As it was a group presentation, I was letting my group down by not submitting my section and I was very upset with myself. The night before the group was to meet to finalize the presentation for the following day, I was feeling overwhelmed and panicked, and thought it would be best for my group if I were to drop out of the course. I didn¿¿t properly think through this decision, I was stressed over other assignments, and I wasn¿¿t in a good state of mind to make this decision. I should have spoken to the Professor but I was too embarrassed and thought I left my problems with the material to late to ask for help.
After I dropped this course, I met with Professor Sherman to discuss what happened. During the meeting, we discussed the possibility of getting back into the course, and I decided I would like to see if it were possible.
If possible and acceptable, I would like to be re-enrolled in this course.
Thank you for your time
Heather Malcolm
