Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean (Academic),
I am writing this to request an appeal to drop ENGL100(Summer, 2021) FRST120(Summer, 2021) and WRIT120 (Summer, 2021) after the academic deadline.
I got a job three weeks after school started, and I needed the money to help pay the bill for my family, as my parent both lost their jobs during Covid. I work from 9:30 - 18:30, and it takes another 3 hours for transportation. I didn't have the time to finish my school work as I have to work from home after my off-hours.
A month ago, my grandmother's pneumonia got worse, and I have to take care of her after work. It was a tough time for me, and I wasn't able to focus on anything else.
I understand that finishing my school works is my responsibility, and I should have planned out the schedule to coordinate with my job.
I had asked to change my work hours into a part-time worker, so I will be able to manage the time to finish my course work after Summer.
My mom is currently looking for a job; we will hire a caregiver to take care of my grandmother as soon as we can afford this.
