Petition Letter
Dear Associate Dean(Academic) ,
a.My Request: I am appealing that I will take three courses from another institutions on letter of permission in the winter of 2022.
b.Explanation:
Because of covid-19, I want to choose online courses as much as possible, but the School of Computing offers limited online courses, so in winter of 2022, I'm going to enroll the COMP 482 at the Athabasca University and transfer it as the Queen's CISC 325 (3.0 units). And because I want to finish my degree program as soon as possible , so from December 13, 2021 to January 7, 2022, I??m going to take two courses??6.0 units) of Shanghai Jiaotong University as my elective courses, during this period, Queen's does not provide courses. I've got an overload permit, so I can register 21.0 units in the winter of 2022, during this term , I also plan to take two online courses (phill111B, phys118B) and two face-to-face courses (cisc324, cisc326) at Queen??s.
c.Future plan:
I still need 63.0 units to complete my honorary degree program. I intend to complete all degree courses in the spring of 2023. In my fourth year, I hope I can devote myself to my graduation project. Therefore, in my fourth year, I intend to take only three courses per semester. In the fall of 2021, I have enrolled five courses(15.0 units) at?Queen's. My future plan is as follows:
1. In the winter of 2022, I will enroll four courses (12.0 units) at Queen's University, one online course (3.0 units) of Athabasca University in Queen's computer course as transfer credits, and two online courses (6 .0units) of Shanghai Jiaotong University as my elective courses.
2. In the summer of 2022, I will enroll two courses (6.0 units) at Queen's University and one online course (3.0 units) in ?Athabasca University.
3. In the fall of 2022, I will enroll three courses (9.0 units) at Queen's University.
4. In the winter of 2023, I will enroll three courses (9.0 units) at Queen's University.
I very much hope that you will allow me to take three courses (9.0 units) from other institutions in the winter of 2020. Thank you.
Best,
Yingjie Gong
