Petition Letter
Hello to whoever it may concern,
My name is Maleesha Wanniarachchige student ID 20214791. I'm asking to drop STAT 268 and MATH 280 from my courses. I checked solus to see if I can drop these two courses but I can't. I did these courses in the fall semester but I got an extension for the final exam because I was ill. During the fall semester I fell ill for about more than a month nearing the end of the semester. As a result I fell back on many of my courses including STAT 268 and MATH 280. Early on I went to the urgent care unit and got tested for covid but it came back negative and I was told that I should be feeling better in a week or two. This was however not the case and I continued to be ill. I had symptoms including headaches, coughing, and fever etc. I was on a mix of Advil's and cough Syrup that helped my symptoms however they made me drowsy and bedridden for close to over a month. I didn't want to give up on these courses so I decided I'd use the time given by academic consideration to catch up on these two courses. This did not however work out. I was inside my room for a majority of the break as I was still sick. I had gotten a bit better but the mix of medicine and lack of appetite left me with no energy to complete any work. I was not able to catch up on the material and I will likely be finishing these courses with a bad grade after the exam. I appreciate you taking the time to read this. Thanks.
