Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Sophia Aloeristok, and I am a third year Queen's student. I had planned on going abroad second semester to Lyon, France to complete my third year studies at Université de Lumières - Lyon 2. Unfortunately, after several unforeseen delays due to the visa process and Covid-19, I had to delay my flight until after the semester in France started. I had been in contact with IPO at Queen's and Lyon throughout this process. Unfortunately, I got a positive Covid-19 test before my flight and was unable to go to France. With the previous delays, I had to cancel my exchange as I could not meet the deadline for arrival to enroll in classes. This was very disappointing as I was unable to study abroad and complete my exchange.
I had already paid tuition for my exchange prior to cancellation and appealed for a refund through Queen's refund requests. They directed me to fill in an academic, then financial appeal.
This whole process has been very frustrating as I was unable to complete my exchange, and have already paid the necessary fees to Queen's University. I am hoping to unenroll in my exchange as I cannot do it myself through SOLUS so I can submit a tuition refund request via financial appeal.
