Petition Letter
I attempted to drop the course on March 4th during university operating hours but was unable to do so because the SOLUS system sent the following message:
Error: Department Consent Required to Drop from Class, Drop Not Processed. Consent is needed to drop from the class. The drop transaction was not processed. (text reproduced verbatim as this field does not allow pasting images; original screenshot available upon request)
Following this I contacted one of the Computing academic advisors, who suggested sending an email to the registrar instead. This was done and I received an automatic response saying that someone would reply within 1-3 business days (again, original email message available). 2 weeks passed with no result so I decided to call Arts and Science Student Services who directed me to fill out this form. I suspect the reason that SOLUS prevented me from dropping the course is that I switched to the online-only version in February. I'd greatly appreciate it if this matter were resolved before the April exam period.
Thank you
