Petition Letter
To Whom it May Concern,
I am appealing to drop DEVS 210 (Winter, 2022) past the academic deadline.
Extenuating circumstances beyond my control impacted my academic performance in this course. I have a supporting document written by Barbara Lotan that will express the psychological distress I have experienced this semester. The events that led to this made it difficult to complete academic assignments on time and to the best of my ability. This course in particular was impacted because the time that there were assignments due I was experiencing acute psychological distress that ultimately led to me needing to leave Kingston for a month. To deal with this I have been in contact with Barbara, as well as a social worker at the Kingston General Hospital. These events ultimately had a significant impact on my academic performance.
To achieve academic success in the future, I will maintain regular meetings with a mental health professional.
Thank you for your consideration.
EMAIL FROM BARB LOTAN:
Good morning,
Please accept this email as a letter of support for a late drop appeal for student AC 20230002 19arc15@queensu.ca
I am off sick with COVID and proper letter writing to support this request will be delayed. I do not want this to negatively impact her appeal.
I encouraged the late drop based on the extenuating circumstance and some continuing struggles.
If a more fulsome letter is required, I can provide that when I return to the office, likely after the Easter weekend.
respectfully, Barb
