Petition Letter
I am appealing for a late drop and refund for WRIT 120.
Available Documentation: Communications with Dr. Kinderman and the Queen's Ombudsperson.
While in Dr. Kinderman's summer course (WRIT 120), I requested disability accommodations. For several weeks I emailed repeatedly, and received no response. This problem exacerbated my experience of my disability, and made it impossible for me to complete this course.
I sent a letter explaining the circumstance (with evidence) to Dr. Kinderman, the Queen's Ombudsperson, and a few others detailing the ways in which this does not align with my rights as a disabled student as specified by Queen's.
Dr. Kinderman responded saying that she thought the TAs were handling my accommodations which is why she did not respond to my many concerned emails over several weeks.
Dr. Kinderman said that she is willing to right this wrong. I am appealing for a late drop and refund for this course, as that is what I feel is appropriate given the situation's non-alignment with Queen's' rules about accommodating disabled students.
