Petition Letter
During this summer's term, LLCU 111 was one of two courses I enrolled in however it was the only in-person course. Two days before our first in-person test, I was in close contact with someone who tested positive for covid therefore I had to quarantine until I was able to get my results which caused me to miss my test. I then found out I tested positive for COVID-19 and started developing symptoms which extended my quarantine period for another two weeks so that I could test negative for the virus and was no longer showing signs and symptoms. Being an in-person course, this prevented me from keeping up with the course material and made it impossible for me to make up for the lost time especially since this summer course was condensed into 6 weeks of teaching instead of 12 weeks like the fall and winter semester. Therefore I am appealing to late drop this course as my health conditions prevented me from not only participating but also succeeding so that I can raise my GPA and avoid falling into academic probation.
