Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
My name is Sam Azin (Student 20184149) and I am a third year student studying Mathematics & Biology. I am not attending school this year and I had to completely withdraw from my studies in the winter semester of the 2021-2022 academic year. I have been severely ill and I was unable to complete my course work. I have a medical note and a professional opinion regarding my current academic capabilities, and how my illness has negatively affected me this past year (including the 2021 fall semester).
I enrolled in BIOL 343 (Advanced Statistics in Biology) in the September term of the 2021-2022 academic year. I completed the course with an A+, but I had a 10% final summative due that I wasn't able to complete due to my ongoing illness. Professor Rob Colautti has given me an F in this course. I need to appeal this as this does not reflect my achievements in the course. I am a deans honours student and I have a 4.12 GPA. This is not characteristic of me nor my academic achievements in BIOL 343 and in general. I look forward to hearing from you. This is my written letter to appeal for a late-drop for BIOL 343. Further supporting documentation from several medical professionals will be provided upon request.
I also have written support from Peter Taylor (Undergraduate chair of the Mathematics department) in an email. This email will be provided in the other documentation section.
