Petition Letter
Due to financial difficulties I was not able to pay my tuition for the fall semester until September 15th. The registrar's office takes time to process tuition payments, and during this time, there was a hold placed on my enrollment in classes. Also during this time, the deadline to add fall semester classes has passed. Because of this, I was denied enrollment to POLS 250, despite my having paid the tuition amount for the course. POLS 250 is a required course for a political science degree, my intended major. I have been attending classes and tutorials, as well as doing readings for the class, in hopes that I could stay updated on course content, and eventually be properly enrolled. Speaking to Professor Colin Farrelly, he was sympathetic and supportive, suggesting that I speak with Cynthia MacIntosh, who in turn asked I appeal with you. The hold on my enrollment has since been lifted after I spoke with the registrar's office. I take full responsibility for my late tuition payment, as I am sure I could have reached out to a financial aid service. I only hope it is not to late to correct this mistake.
