Academic Plan
Should this appeal be granted, I am confident I will be able to continue achieving academic success. I am currently on track in my degree plan, as after this Fall Semester, I will have completed 72 credits worth of courses out of 120 credits. These credits are required for my BAH in Health Studies, leaving 48 credits for me to achieve in the last three semesters of my undergraduate degree.
Of the 48 credits mentioned above, 15 must be electives to complete my degree, and 18 must be Sociology credits, which I hope to take during my independent abroad program. The rest of my credits will be taken during the summer of 2023 and my fourth year at Queens. At the American University of Paris (AUP), a full course load comprises four courses, each worth four credits.
The courses I hope to take at the AUP to satisfy my degree in Health Studies are French and culture (FR1200A), which is offered by AUPs French department, Media and Gender (GS3053), which is offered by AUPs Gender Studies department, Fashion media production (CM4013) which AUPs communications department offers, and Topics in sociology (SO3091). I am aware that a full course load at Queens is five courses, therefore if I need to take another it would be Gender and health (PY3091C) which AUPs psychology department offers.
Moreover, I am also aware Queens does not have a communications department; therefore, should that course not be approved for my studies, I would take another class from the gender studies department (Topics in gender studies (GS3091).
Furthermore, every course I plan on taking will help me excel in both my minor and major, as they are all relevant to the disciplines of health and sociology.
