Petition Letter
To whom it may concern,
I am requesting to late drop all my 2022 fall term classes. These include: BIOL442, BIOL343, CHEM213, PHAR380, and DEVS220. This was an extremely hard decision for myself as I am quite concerned about my academic future. In talking to student support services and my personal doctor I agreed to put my health first. I stopped attending class and completing course work October 25th, 2022. Before this I started experiencing severe panic attacks and was diagnosed with anxiety. I tried to push through and continue studies, but my family was concerned for me as I started showing signs of depression. I decided to go home October 25th and be with my support system. At this point I realized that my studies were really aggravating my anxiety. I do not feel well enough yet to return to studies and will have missed more than half of the course work in all courses. Therefore, myself as well as Gail (student support services) agree that late dropping my 2022 fall courses is in my best interest. It wasn??t until I got home that I realized how downhill my mental health had really gone. I am undergoing treatment and am on my journey to improving my health, so I hope to return to studies for 2023 winter term. I am hoping to be online but am not sure if this is possible considering my degree (con-ed, teachables in biology and chemistry). Please accept this appeal to late drop my fall 2022 term courses.
Thank you, Addison Girard
