Dear Dr. Stephenson,
I am a fourth-year kinesiology student (student: 20173868) and am appealing to add a 7th course temporarily to my course load in order to ensure I have enough credits to graduate on time in June 2023.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I took ANAT 100 and 380 because ANAT 315 and 316 were not offered. I am currently in the progress of applying to dental schools. Some of these dental schools do not accept ANAT 100 or 380 as a prerequisite course as neither included an in-person cadaver lab. Because I am in my last semester of university, I am unable to complete ANAT 315 and 316 in time. Instead, I'd like to take ANAT 101 as it is an accepted prerequisite course for the dental programs I'm applying to. The Health Science Department has kindly allowed me to enroll in ANAT 101 even though I have taken ANAT 100. However, they failed to explain to me that having taken ANAT 100, ANAT 101 will not count as a credit towards my degree. I need to take this anatomy course but am now 3.0 credits short to graduate after this semester. I am trying to enroll into other courses and am on a waitlist for one but cannot add another as a backup due to the limit of 6 courses per semester.
I would like to add a 7th course temporarily to ensure that I meet the credits needed to graduate. Thank you for considering this request.
