The Walter MacFarlane Smith Scholarship in Chemistry

Established in recognition of the contributions of Walter MacFarlane Smith. Awarded annually to a graduating Honours Chemistry student in the Faculty of Arts and Science on the basis of outstanding achievement for a research project in CHEM 497.

The Walter Rosser Chair in Family Medicine Research Trust Fund

Established to augment funding for The Walter Rosser Chair in Family Medicine Research Endowment Fund.

The Walter Szarek Endowed Lecture Series

Established to support the costs associated with bringing eminent academics and chemists to Queen's University campus. These funds will be used to cover expenses related to the lecture or event, honoraria and/or speaking fees.

The Walter Thumm Memorial Scholarship in Physics

Established in memory of Physics Prof. Walter Thumm. Awarded to an upper-year student who has indicated it is their career goal to teach physics, preferably at the high school level, and who has a strong aptitude in physics and a commitment to teaching.

The WAMIC Scholarship

Established by the Women's Association of the Mining Industry of Canada Foundation. Awarded to upper year students in the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining or the Geological Engineering program in Smith Engineering.

The WAMIC Wood Award

Established by the Women's Association of the Mining Industry of Canada Foundation. Awarded to upper year students in the Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining or the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.

The Warmbold Award

Established by Benita Warmbold, BCom'80, and Gerald Wood. Awarded to women students entering third year of the Bachelor of Commerce Program who have chosen to concentrate their studies in Finance.

The Wasmund Family Indigenous Engineering Scholars

Awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic achievement to Indigenous students entering first year of a Bachelor of Applied Science degree program in Smith Engineering. The award is renewable for three subsequent years.

The Wasmund Family Indigenous Scholars Award

Established by Dr. Bert Wasmund (B.Sc.1961) and Dr. Eric Wasmund (B.Sc.1988). Awarded to Indigenous students entering first year in any undergraduate degree program with preference to a program in Smith Engineering.

The Wasmund Family Memorial Scholars Award

Established in memory of Theodore and Esther Wasmund by Bert Wasmund B.Sc. '61 and Eric Wasmund B.Sc. '88. Awarded to students entering the first year of any undergraduate program on the basis of financial need, academic achievement, and initiative.
